Your Right To Bail
The right to bail before trial is another important right which is guaranteed by the Tennessee Constiution. However, though “the Tennessee Constitution guarantees a defendant the right to pretrial release on bail, but this right is not absolute” and “A defendant may forfeit her right to bail by subsequent criminal conduct” as the Supreme Court for the State of Tennessee wrote their decision State v. Burgins, (Tenn. 2015).
