Every driver across Tennessee and the country has seen a car crash. Unfortunately, many people have also been involved in an accident. The lucky drivers are not injured. We represent the less fortunate drivers who are injured in accidents.

At the Ellis & Ellis Law, P.C., our clients are not just a number or another case. They are individuals with unique and important needs. We are committed to doing what we can to address those needs. We represent clients throughout Knoxville, East Tennessee, across the country, Canada, Ireland and Japan.

Our office represents people hurt in all types of car accidents from moderate to serious rear-end collisions, broad-side crashes, hit-and-run and others. Knoxville car accident attorney Martin Ellis has more than 30 years of experience and has helped clients with:

  • Spinal injuries
  • Temporary and permanent disabilities
  • Paralysis
  • Severe back injuries
  • Brain injuries

On Dec. 11, 1990, a 99 car pileup occurred near Charleston, Tennessee. In this accident, 12 people were killed and 42 drivers were injured. Martin Ellis represented Akzo Salt, which was named as a defendant in litigation.

“Martin Ellis was successful in defending Akzo which was eventually dismissed from all lawsuits without any payment or contribution toward settlement. Getting us out      quickly, quietly and efficiently as possible is lawyering at its best.”

Peter S. Gold, Senior VP & General Counselor Akzo America Inc.

Co-defendants paid more than $10 million to settle the multiple suits that were filed. The state of Tennessee eventually paid about $800,000 to settle lawsuits alleging negligence for failing to respond to known hazards in the fog zone. The Tennessee Department of Transportation eventually installed a $4.4 million system of fog detectors, gates and warning signs along the fog zone in 1993.
